Used as an external data storage drive with UGREEN case. No complaints. Fast and reliable.

Excellent SSDs, the MX500 is the fourth one I have bought since 2019: 500GB, 500GB, 1TB, and now the 2TB, all problem-free!! I have never lost data, I have never had any freezes. (I use them for external drives as I am a laptop user and their speeds are just fine; I assume that in a tower they would deliver 100% of their transfer speed).

Very good disk, I have had it for 1.5 years in a PlayStation 3. I have never had any problems. Before I put it in the PS3, I tested it on the PC a bit and for a SATA disk it is fast, especially in data writing.

For two years now it has been functioning as a "storage", because I couldn't stand the spin up/down of the hard drives (it was the only thing that could be heard in the PC).

Very satisfactory speeds, not such a satisfactory price. If you can't go for M.2 and are forced to use SATA, I consider it a very fair choice in terms of price/reliability and speed.

1st tier SATA SSD with performance comparable to the more commercially recognized Samsung (860 EVO / 870 EVO) and a better price.
The only flaw is found in the aesthetic aspect: the design has remained the same since 2018 when it was first released. The budget BX500 series from Crucial is more visually appealing.
Hopefully, all the cons of technology products are related to the packaging...

I used it on a 7-year-old DELL with Intel i5, 12GB RAM, and Windows 10. It opens the laptop quickly. It opens applications quickly but lags elsewhere. For example, when I open some pages on Chrome, they take longer to load, which didn't happen when I had the HDD.

Very good quality although it looks metallic it is plastic, I put 2 x 500GB of them in my server and they hit very good speeds together.

It is as fast as it promises.
It is faster than an old patriot burst, which was also quite fast-durable and was replaced due to capacity.
If it doesn't have any issues, I consider it value for money.

Fast, reliable SSD. I have been using 2x1TB here for 3-4 years now for storage and for applications/games on my pc. I am sure it will be flawless for the operating system as well.

The speed does not drop significantly after prolonged file copying, whether small or large, up to a limit which I imagine I have not reached - for example, copying 50,000 files of size 1KB-5MB is between 350-500MB/sec, unlike cheaper ssds that spit them out after a few minutes and drop to 5KB/sec. I do not have Samsung SSDs to compare them to, but I highly doubt if anyone can practically see a difference.

Health remains at 100% but this is expected as I do not delete/write terrabytes of data.

Finally, it has a sleep mode function that is not noticeable, but the result is that it does not show even half the operating hours compared to other ssd/hdd that were installed around the same time.

The product itself is excellent - feels like I have a new laptop. But if you want to clone your old drive, avoid the included Acronis software - use rather the Macrium Reflect free. You will save a lot of time and avoid unnecessary frustration.

With the Crucial MX500 SSD 1TB I had the operating system installed (Windows 11 pro). At 20 months it crashed with a permanent blue screen that did not respond to any intervention. Fortunately, it has a 5-year warranty. I returned it to the store with the purchase receipt. The replacement was delayed due to the holidays and I received the new one after a month. In order not to be without a computer during this time, I bought a 1TB M.2 NVMe PCI Express 4.0 SSD from another brand and now I have the Crucial MX500 SSD 1TB 2.5'' for file storage. I believe it was a random event. However, during the time I had it as the main disk, the computer was very fast.

It attaches a box to the PS4 and the speed difference compared to the PlayStation's factory HDD is significant. I have only had it for a month, so I don't have an opinion on performance duration, etc. I will come back if needed

Reliable with 100% health after so many hours of operation. I have tried many brands and their health dropped to 88% after 2 years. This one remains consistently at 100%. So whatever I store, I will have it for years

I bought it to upgrade my PS4's HDD and the results were amazing. I expected there to be a difference, but not this big. Apart from the loading screens, which are now almost non-existent, I also see a noticeable difference in the graphics of all the games I play. I highly recommend it and I generally recommend everyone to install SSDs on their consoles, they will see a difference!

The disk is very fast and made my computer like new as it promises. The big problem is the Acronis software for cloning. I used it on two computers, each one gave different errors, and it is so heavy that it crashed the whole computer in the last step. Many of these problems have been reported on the company's support page and have not been resolved for several years. It took me 2 days to make the copy on one computer. I would not recommend the product for this reason unless you have another cloning program.

The MX500 series from Crucial is truly amazing! Over the past 8 years, I have purchased more than 20 of these drives (of different capacities) for my clients and I have never heard a single complaint from anyone. I haven't done any serious measurements to see if the speeds and performance stated by Crucial are accurate, but every laptop I have built or upgraded runs flawlessly after the tasks are completed. The combination of (a) very good performance and (b) no errors/damage (so far) in my personal experiences with these drives leaves me with no other choice but to confidently recommend the Crucial MX500 series. Purchase any capacity of the Crucial MX500 without any worries!

Fast so far, will show in the long run, nice that it gives you a base for the disk to cover the reduced volume compared to the old one

After 62 days of total operation, HD Sentinel shows 91% health, and every time I checked it, it dropped by 1% less each time. I don't know what trouble SSDs have with writes, but mechanical drives are much more reliable.

High-quality SATA SSD for all uses, especially for storing large files (videos, music, etc.). With the reliability of Crucial and currently perhaps the best quality-price ratio for SATA SSD!
I have 2 and I use one essentially as the media center of the house, as with a simple SATA to USB cable (or enclosure) you can easily and cheaply convert them into external drives or flash drives, with strong connectivity to all devices (PC, laptop, TV, etc.).

It is used in Ubiquiti UDM as a 24/7 recording disk. Yes, I know there are DVR disks, but the main reason I use this one is not about longevity, but because I want to record at the fastest possible speed and with the best quality that the camera offers.

I have him as my SSD for my macOS partition. So far, it's like heaven. It's fast, does its job, etc. However, the disk I got a year ago and still works is my external one. My external has 1TB and it's perfect. Fast, reliable, I throw it in my bag and I'm not afraid it will break (it doesn't have a case around it). I've filled it up and it's still fast with 300mb/s every time I copy a file from the disk to my Samsung 870 Evo. With how cheap it is, it would probably be better to get one for gaming if you can spend a little more than an HDD.

Among the best in terms of quality for the price and durability. 4/5 because one of the three pieces I received was defective upon opening. A one-way street if someone can't afford Samsung.

I have him on a Dell Latitude. Daily use, mainly for movies, not games. Perhaps the most important upgrade along with the RAM. The fast disk has never been a problem. It fits perfectly on Dell. 5*

The disk was purchased to replace a Kingston SSDNow V+ 128GB from 2012, which decently hosted a basic Windows operating system (initially Windows 7 Pro and then Windows 10 Enterprise) in combination with Ubuntu in a dual boot system for a decade.
With a new dual boot configuration with Windows 11 Pro and Ubuntu 22.04LTS, the FX6300 gained a new dynamic. The system literally transformed. The read/write speeds, with a slight deviation, meet the manufacturer's specifications.
In conclusion..
Crucial MX500 SSD 1TB 2.5'' SATA III (2022), a reliable disk, awaiting proof of its reliability... similar to that of the Kingston SSDNow V+ 128GB (2012)

I really saw the laptop that was dragging and flying, and where no game was playing, with a memory RAM change and this hard drive started playing many games that it did not play before, and the pc is now perfect as if I bought a new laptop of a new generation

I've had it for 1 month. It's great. I revived a 2012 Lenovo G570 laptop. It boots up in seconds. I'll come back for a reevaluation later.

So far (almost a year later), it works perfectly on a 2010 iMac without any problems or changes in speed or sudden blackouts (which I had with a previous SSD from another manufacturer at the same price). It's definitely not the fastest, but it works well. I feel lucky because unfortunately there is no warranty for such pieces, we just cross our fingers to be among the 2 out of 3 buyers that these products work for and not the one left with... a lemon. Obviously, quality control doesn't work super well on cheap mass-produced pieces coming out of Chinese factories - but the other option is a disk with double or even triple the price!

It makes a difference from the get-go, I don't know if it will get better along the way, but if you have a mechanical hard drive it's a very good choice.
