Description

Description

The Samsung 860 EVO features Samsung's latest V-NAND technology for managing the workload of computers and is ideal for high-performance applications. It ensures fast, consistent performance and data security.

Samsung V-NAND Technology

The Samsung V-NAND flash memory stacks 64 layers of cells vertically instead of trying to adapt to a fixed horizontal space, in order to provide high performance with a small footprint.

Fast Read/Write Performance

It operates at sequential write speeds of up to 520 MB/s and sequential read speeds of up to 550 MB/s with a powerful Samsung MJX controller based on an algorithm (up to 1GHz).

Guaranteed durability

With an industrial warranty that offers up to 2,400 Total Bytes Written (TBW) for 5 years, and the highest durability of V-NAND compared to the conventional level, the 860 SSD EVO can consistently meet the needs of high-quality and heavy computer usage with ease (such as secure storage and performance of 4K video and 3D data).

I used it to replace my old m2 sk hynix sc311 sata 256gb (Dell G5 15 5587 laptop). I didn't notice significant speed differences, although the Evo is faster, but what impressed me is the Samsung Data Migration cloning software. Additionally, I combined it with a RaidSonic Icy Box IB-183M2. I put the EVO in the Icy box and connected it to the laptop. After that, the software took care of the rest. Finally, I removed the hynix from the laptop and installed the EVO, and that was it. No formatting or anything. It was as if nothing had changed. Even the open browser tabs were in their place. Programs, settings, everything was there!!! 3 tips. A) When you first install the EVO and the system doesn't recognize it, you just need to go to disk management, right-click on the disk description, and select new extended volume (all disk colors will be blue except for the EVO, which will be black). After extending, it will turn blue and be recognized normally. B) It's good to check for errors on the old M2 from the command line. (From search -> command line or CMD -> right-click and run as administrator, then type chkdsk /f) and C) Before cloning, close everything running in the background, tabs, games, antivirus programs, even the internet. Then simply click on clone and step away. When the process is finished, the computer will shut down on its own (so it's convenient to leave it overnight as it copies files).

Purchased as a 2nd hard drive in Dell Inspiron 7559. Easy installation (hardware and software). At first glance, it is significantly faster than the vanilla HDD of the laptop.
