What is progress and what is conservatism? What constitutes a forward path and what constitutes a regression? What are the indicators of a progressive government and what are those of a conservative government?

Can every political change, regardless of the direction it takes, be characterized, according to its supporters, as progressive? And can every attempt to reverse a course, without other terms and conditions, be labeled as reform?

Are there today distinct lines between the Right and the Left? Or has the globalization of the economy, along with the national, eliminated both political borders and ideological divisions?
