Description

The Hellenism of the East was doomed to indifference and neglect. This was the will of the greats of the time. In the end, what remains of this thriving Hellenism?

Aside from the expatriates from the former Soviet Union, who are also gradually dwindling, today the only ones who remain and 'guard the Thermopylae' are a few thousand Greeks in Istanbul and several hundred in Imbros and Tenedos. Of course, this does not include the hidden Christians of Pontus, who surely exist, but it is not easy to determine them locally, quantitatively, and qualitatively.

However, one thing is certain: Both the open and hidden Christians, however many there are, together with the Greeks of the former Soviet Union, those who remained there, constitute the vanguard and ambassadors of Hellenism in our 'Eastern lands.' Hellenism of the East still endures!
