Once upon a time, there lived a woodcutter with his wife and their seven children. However, the youngest one, when he was born, was as short as a little finger. That is why they called him Thumbelina.

But as much height as he lacked, he had that much cleverness. So when his family found themselves in great poverty and his parents felt desperate, he managed, with his cleverness and optimism, to bring them all better days together.
