In this book, the author, drawing on his extensive experience in Adult Education, tackles fundamental issues in the field.

In the first part, the concepts of Adult Education, Lifelong Learning, and Continuing Education and Training are initially analyzed. Subsequently, the main theoretical approaches to the phenomenon of adult learning are discussed, and the prerequisites for effective adult education are articulated.

The second part focuses on the Greek reality. It explores the attitudes of Greeks towards formal and informal forms of education, presents the national program for teacher education, and examines whether Adult Education can constitute a distinct professional field.
