Description & Specifications

This book is a historical novel set in the broader region of Northern Greece, chronicling the lives of two families over three generations.

From Eastern Rumelia and Adrianople at the end of the 19th century, and from the burned villages of ethnic rivalries in Macedonia of the same era, to present-day Thessaloniki, wars, refugees, sweat, and the passions of so many years converge in the meeting of a man and a woman during a three-day heatwave in August under strange circumstances.

It is also an epic novel about the struggle of daily life, as well as an elegy for the "failed," for love, and for the passage of time.

However, it is more so an extensive novel about Thessaloniki. The buildings, the streets, the hangouts, the corners, the countryside, the suburbs, the skin of the entire city, marked by the imprint of a whole century.
