The Words of Jesus is the oldest collection of sayings of Jesus, which preserved some of the most important parts of Christian literature, such as the Lord's Prayer, the Sermon on the Mount / Plain, the Mission of Jesus' Disciples, the Torment of the Scribes and Pharisees, etc.
The Words of Jesus, or Source of Sayings, as it is commonly referred to in scholarly circles, is the text used by the authors of the "Gospel According to Matthew" and "Gospel According to Luke" to present the teachings of Jesus. Therefore, it is one of the most essential historical sources for reconstructing the teachings and the figure of the Historical Jesus.
This oldest source of the evangelical tradition differs in its key aspects from the dominant interpretation of the primitive Christian community, which is primarily based on the preaching of the Apostle Paul.
