In 1967, I was in the second year of middle school. That year, I changed schools and was trying to adapt to the new environment, make friends and socialize, because otherwise not much had changed. In the evenings, I listened to music on the radio, to Nikos Mastorakis and the station of the American base in Nea Makri, as well as pirate stations with foreign songs. I had a portable Tepaz turntable and spent my pocket money on 45 rpm records by Formings, Juniors, Olympians, and of course The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and The Bee Gees. Regarding books, we had very few at home. I read whatever the school literature teacher recommended.
