One of the nicest books I happened to read, with beautiful writing, a nice plot that keeps your interest constant! Additionally, it tells you so many true incidents of the occupation, things we do not know! So good that when I finished it, I honestly felt sad that there was no more

Description & Specifications

Athens, December 1941. The city is plunged into the nightmare of the great famine. A captain of the SS, who is investigating a case on behalf of Minister of Propaganda Joseph Goebbels, is brutally murdered at the Grande Bretagne Hotel.

The investigation of the murder is taken over by deputy inspector Nikos Agrafiotis, who returns to active duty after being placed on administrative leave following the theft of the swastika at the Acropolis.

The case quickly takes unpredictable turns, and the deputy inspector will discover that he has become embroiled in a deadly game involving black market dealers, members of the collaborationist government, corrupt officials from the Special Security, and SS officers.

Through his wanderings in illegal hangouts, casinos, and cabarets, as well as the hellholes of the Gestapo, he will seek the truth, while with the help of a police veteran and a mysterious girl, he will face a daring plan that will decide thousands of lives.

An exciting novel, based on true events, that sheds light on the darkest period of the Occupation and reveals previously unknown protagonists.
