This book was something I needed to write.
The main reason was to capture in a book my sixty-year journey, starting with the war with Italy in 1940.
It was something that marked my generation with the battles in Albania, World War II, which followed, my involvement in the National Resistance, the experiences of the Occupation, and my subsequent personal adventures, with exile, torture, my studies and my research, apart from Medicine.
In the preface, it is necessary to formulate the basic guidelines I followed, the historical frameworks within which I was obliged to live this historical phase of my life, and mainly, the events and incidents that directed my personality towards these orientations and situations. [...]
