This book records all parliamentary elections that have taken place in Greece since World War II - in a simple, comprehensible, and mainly practical way.

More specifically, it provides the "identity details" of each electoral contest, some basic information about people and events, and, primarily, usually original illustrative material that can directly transport the reader, like a time machine, to different periods of our recent political history.

This material includes photographs, newspaper and magazine front pages, pre-election party materials, ballots, documents, cartoons, and other documents.

We believe that this book will help older readers organize their memories and recall events and situations that were once at the center of public interest.

At the same time, it will contribute to informing younger readers, in a systematic, concise, yet vivid manner, about significant political events that they may have "heard something about" from their parents and know "roughly."

They will follow, for example, all the electoral contests from 1946 to the present, will "get to know" the main actors involved, will experience the birth and death of parties that made history, and may understand the conditions that nurtured the passions, hopes, and disappointments of the previous generation.
