A favorite, both this one and the whole series. We have read it countless times and we even add our own words or the little one describes and wonders about the pictures, so I can explain things to him. It is worth its money also in terms of durability with the thick pages. It's nice that there is a main character in different adventures and places!

It didn't impress me that much. Additionally, I was expecting a conclusion. In any case, for this amount of money, I expected something more, to tell the truth. I don't know if I will get the next one.

Very beautiful and tender book, with excellent illustrations. I took away one star due to the board book edition, as I later realized that it has less text compared to the original edition of the book.

Now at two and a half, it is our favorite book. I don't read the text but we describe the pictures. It can keep him occupied for 10-20 minutes, which I consider very good for his age. Also, the pages are very durable and haven't been damaged compared to others that we have torn.

Nice images that capture attention and engage for quite a while without straining the eye. The meaning is not very clear.

My comments on this book are similar to the others, justifying my choice for my baby. From 12 months old, he started to pay attention to it and follow the story, even though we had it since he was 5 months old and we were just looking at the pictures. The book has several symbols, but I think the most distinctive one by far is the loneliness of Noi, who in none of his depictions has a mouth, only when he had the little whale as his companion in the bathtub! What a unique book and such careful illustration!

Our first book in the series. Beautiful illustrations, sweet story, convenient book for these ages, fits in a child's bag, has reinforced pages that do not tear from the child's hands. The only thing I would not like the story to have is when the dad leaves and the little one stays behind alone.

Very beautiful fairytale. Its few words combined with the impressive illustrations leave room for more words, discussion, and encouragement for observation from the parent's side! This book draws you in with its beautiful images. My children were two years and three months old when one morning at the sea of Sifnos, they were looking into the depths of the horizon and excitedly shouted, "Mom, the whale!!"

Very tender story about a "non-conventional" family... with meaningful messages for the readers! One of our favorites!

Simple story, magical illustration. We love the illustrator/author very much and we have many of his books in our collection. We have the entire series with Noi and we really recommend it without a second thought. The illustration is so wonderful and the text is so concise and essential that all the books in the series deserve a place in the children's library.

Favorite book series. We have read them dozens of times! Funny tip: Find the 6 cats on the first pages that are mentioned.

What can one say about this book? So many profound meanings in so few sentences. Unique and enchanting!

My 2-year-old doesn't love fairy tales, but he went crazy for this one. He flips through it all day, never letting it out of his hands. It has sturdy pages, very resistant to little hands that haven't yet learned how to turn pages. The text is clearly shorter than the regular version, but Davies' illustrations are just as beautiful, as is the message that the book conveys (about loneliness, friendship, and the need to do the right thing no matter how difficult it may be).

It is not a coincidence that it is a best seller in these ages!!! Wonderful illustration and multiple levels of meaning that "read" as the child grows.
