This is the story of a special Christmas ornament, hanging on a Christmas tree somewhere in a home, in one of the many countries in the world. It is the story of a boy who, though he looked like an elf, dressed as a soldier to go fight in one of the fiercest wars. It is also the story of a small truce in a great war – when Christmas trees appeared from the trenches. A story that many wanted to silence, or let fade into forgetfulness, and that many never believed, claiming it was just a legend. And yet this story is true, as… indeed, during Christmas of 1914, amidst World War I, the Christmas magic spread across the Western Front and people acted on the message of brotherhood and peace on earth.
