The aim of this book is not to compose a systematic study of Father John, a critical assessment of his work, or an evaluation of his theological contributions. This has already been done, in a satisfactory manner, by Professor Andrew J. Sopko, in his excellent monograph on Father John titled: Prophet of Roman Orthodoxy - The Theology of John Romanides.

The purpose is to gather characteristic texts, both his own and those by others, published and unpublished, that reveal the man Father John and embody his theology. Some speak about Father John, and he responds to all of us with his well-known theological fullness and precision.
