Description & Specifications

The metaphysics of beauty will be published in two volumes. This present first volume includes topics related to Plato and Plotinus, addressing the ancient Greek aspect of the subject; the second will be dedicated to the afterlife world of Philokalia.

The purpose of the overall project is to highlight the uplift of Greek culture towards the life of the spirit, an uplift that entails greater interiority, a higher sense of responsibility towards the world and both known and unknown fellow beings.

This openness, as liberation from ego and other weightiness, has something virgin-like, a readiness to be fertilized by anything superior. The qualitatively superior here is spiritual, but spiritual does not mean ethereal; it means decisively more complex, a reality that is greater than the sum of its parts and elements.

Suddenly, consciousness transcends the sum of the brain centers, and the radiance of a person encompasses all characteristics. In this category of superiority belongs beauty, which increases with the purity of our deeds, the honesty of our purposes, and our inner peace.

Thus, my reality is not my materiality but my uniqueness - my active personal way of existing. The thirst for beauty directly raises our relationship with God, a relationship intertwined with love as the deepest desire for the realization of humanity.
