This is a new revised edition of the prose work of K.P. Kavafis, which collects texts that are purely literary as well as some of a mixed nature—critical, essayistic, and philological.
The book is divided into two parts. In the first part, the Published Prose, the texts published by the poet himself are included in chronological order of their first publication, thus reflecting his will and writing intentions at the time they were published. They are divided into two sections: a) Articles and studies, b) Critical notes.
In the second part, the Hidden Prose presents the unpublished texts by the poet and completely unpublished texts from the Kavafis Archive in chronological order of their composition. This part is also divided into two sections: a) Creative texts, and b) Articles, studies, and critical notes.
Through K.P. Kavafis's prose texts, the reader has the opportunity to discern more clearly his writing virtues and to understand deeper aspects of his poetic work. The edition is complemented by an introductory note, an epilogue, a bibliographical appendix, notes, and indexes by the editor.
