After years of work, during which various materials such as encyclopedias, newspaper and magazine articles, monographs, and online sources were utilized, while contacts were made with relatives and unpublished information was collected from inaccessible sources, Dr. Antonis A. Antoniou, a professor of Economic History, offers us an ambitious work in which important knowledge elements about the history of Thessaly are provided in great detail.
The entries present individuals who were either born in Thessaly and played a significant role in its historical development, or settled or acted in Thessaly and contributed to its current social and cultural identity.
The research covers the period from the completion of the Ottoman conquest of Thessaly in the early fifteenth century to the present day, as long as the mentioned individuals have completed their biological cycle.
Thessalian history is highlighted through the lives, work, and contribution of its protagonists to the historical process.
