After Melios's disappointment regarding the marriage of his beloved Agambeli and being chased by the police for once again standing up for the weak, his journey continues, this time in a big city, facing the harsh reality of Thessaloniki.
After the initial acquaintance with petty criminals and prostitutes, he manages to find a job as a librarian. His contact with the literary circle of the city pushes him to write his first poems. At the library, he flirts with a customer and falls in love again.
There, he also has an unexpected reunion with Agambeli, his teenage love. His acquaintance with hunted leftists leaves a mark on him, and so, beneath the castles of the big city, he wanders once more, filled with hope for a better tomorrow.
However, his unfulfilled love and the tragic revelation about the life of his old beloved will destroy everything he had built with so much effort until then...
