A fundamental characteristic of the `hyper-organized` societies of our time is that in almost all areas of social action and behavior, from politics and public administration to businesses, services, and industry, and from voluntary organizations to security mechanisms and state repression systems, there is an increasing `bureaucratization` of the organizational and administrative field.
More generally, the `organizationalization` of social capital almost in its entirety, in all its forms and manifestations, in politics, in the economy, in culture, and in all kinds of social behaviors, seems to constitute an almost inevitable process that is organically linked to the very logic and dynamics of modernity and the modernization of societies.
In a seemingly paradoxical way, even the critique and the more radical questioning of the organizational paradigm, or rather the `paradigms` of modernity, does not escape its own subjugation to organizational necessity.
In corresponding chapters of the book, certain critical aspects and dimensions of organized behavior are examined in detail, such as the exercise of power and its legitimization, the processes of bureaucratization of organizations, the generality and questioning of hierarchy in the formation of the organizational field, the basic principles and axioms of management and administration by various managers and leaders, the organizational constants of systems, the goals and processes of goal setting, decision-making and the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of strategy and public policy, the main bundles and categories of skills of human resources in organizations, as well as their systematic cultivation and development, the hidden allure of reform and modernization of management and organizations, and finally the issues of ethics and professionalism in organizational and administrative behavior.
