A monumental edition of the treatise by Dioscorides, who is considered by modern science the Father of Pharmacology. This treatise, which presents on each page a concise miniature of the medicinal plant and is accompanied by text detailing its known properties at the time, had widespread dissemination and use among those practicing the profession of pharmacologist and served for many centuries as an inexhaustible source of knowledge for Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Ethiopians, French, and others.
The National Library of Naples Vittorio Emanuele III, fulfilling its institutional obligation to actively promote the heritage it holds, entrusted the reproduction of the work to the valuable and high-quality care of Miletus, so that the manuscript could symbolically make a journey back to the land of the author's origin.
