“The Origin of the Work of Art” is a text that contains the main ideas of Martin Heidegger (1889-1976) regarding the philosophy of art. Here, it is stated that within the artwork, truth is revealed, and thus art is not primarily concerned with the beautiful and aesthetics.

It is also expressed that “every art is essentially poetry”; this does not diminish other forms of art, such as music, architecture, or sculpture, but rather highlights their deeper meaning.

At the same time, Heidegger takes the opportunity to critique the modern objectification and realization of artworks, which is evident in the commercialization of artistic enjoyment, scientific art criticism, and museum preservation.
