Description & Specifications

«... In all cases -Psychosabbaths, Bright Week- people used to (and in many places still do today) go to the graves and have meals using them as tables, where they place the food. It is supposed that the dead also participate. In any case, these gatherings usually evolve into joyful encounters - one could dare to say that these meetings are both delightful and optimistic, shaped by the companionship of those involved, within an environment flooded with greenery and flowers, even if it is a cemetery.

The women had already laid a clean white tablecloth on the graves of their loved ones, placing the containers with traditional appetizers, such as pirozhki, dolmades, as well as salami, meatballs, and sweet bread with red eggs. Next to them was the tsipouro or ouzo, served in plastic cups. Anyone passing by a grave would be offered a meze and a drink by the women, and they would wish or even invite the passerby saying: “Come to our table too!” referring to the grave.” [Excerpt from the text on the back cover of the edition]
