The work of Saint Justin is not unknown to the Greek audience, firstly because many of his texts and works have been translated into our language, and secondly because both he and many of his spiritual children have studied in Greece and maintain fraternal relationships with the Greek-speaking world.
In this particular work of the Dogmatics of Saint Justin, we had to approach and translate for the Greek audience a text that is intended as a manual of Dogmatics for theology students, but essentially it is an experiential dogmatics, which has love and the total surrender of man to the God-man Christ as its core.
Saint's writing reflects his personal experience and vision, an element that the attentive reader can easily discern. Of course, this does not mean that he invents something or innovates; on the contrary, he follows in the footsteps of the patristic tradition, becoming a carrier of it himself.
As a connoisseur of the Greek language, especially the ancient one, Saint Justin writes in Serbian, using and capturing the richness, compositional ability, and flexibility of both languages, and we would add, of the Russian language as well. The main tool for this composition is primarily the use of grammatical prepositions. What remains as a general impression and final taste of Saint Justin's writings, regarding their linguistic richness, is a completely personal writing style that begins by incorporating and composing the Slavic soul of the Serbian tradition, Russian theologians and Elders, and ends in the Greek way of expression. Moreover, this is also one of the elements of the catholicity and universality of the Orthodox tradition.
Saint creates new words, which are not neologisms but inspired formulations of the truths and doctrines of the Church. The main tool for creating these new words, as we mentioned before, is the use of prepositions, which are attached to verbs and nouns. We chose to render these cases with absolute fidelity, as our own interpretation or rendering would risk distorting the meaning and dynamism of the text. The reader can easily identify these expressions and words from the very first pages of the book. [...]
