This volume contains a series of studies that have been published over time within the framework of the research program "Education of the Greek Diaspora," led by the distinguished professor of the University of Crete, Michalis Damanakis.
The thirteen chapters along with the three appendices included here reflect our decade-long knowledge and experience as a collaborator and scientific director of the team that undertook the action of history and culture for Greek children in the diaspora.
In the first part, which constitutes the theoretical framework, six studies have been included. These studies initially depict the characteristics of Greek-speaking students in the foreign education system at the beginning of the "Education of the Greek Diaspora" project.
The second part includes thirteen studies that relate to issues of applying the theoretical framework. These studies concern the methodology followed in the development of teaching materials for teaching Greek history to Greek children abroad, the intentions and applications of the scientific team, and key principles regarding the writing of textbooks and the curriculum, both for primary and secondary education.
The third part includes three appendices that are very useful for approaching historical education in the Greek diaspora.
