This book, which contains four short treatises, is divided into three parts. The first part features the famous and highly accessible astronomical work by Proclus titled "On the Sphere," which serves as a summary of his broader astronomical work titled "Hypotyposis of Astronomical Assumptions." It was deemed appropriate to include diagrams of the Celestial Sphere with the relevant circles mentioned in the text.
The second part contains the work by Damianos titled "Chapters on Optical Assumptions." This is a small work on Geometrical Optics, though at a lower level than Euclid's "Optics - Catoptrics."
The third part includes the works of Domninus "Manual of Introductory Arithmetic" and "Introductory Manual of Arithmetic" ("How to derive a ratio from the ratio of two numbers"). These are two short works on arithmetic. The second of the aforementioned works by Domninus is particularly interesting as it presents for the first time the theory regarding how we can extract a given ratio from the ratio of two numbers and find the remaining ratio.
Each part contains introductory information about the author and his works, the ancient Greek text of the treatise, its translation into Modern Greek, and the relevant bibliography.
