And just as the Laestrygonians were telling their macabre tale, calmly and politely, they suddenly grew fierce and fell upon their victims like the vultures of destruction, devouring anyone they found in their way.

They ate the tourists from the passing boats, they consumed (alas!) some hefty, bare-breasted German women who had smeared themselves with creams and displayed their shapeless masses in hopes of attracting attention, and they also devoured a few of my companions, even laying hands on Helen.

Their beautiful, sun-kissed, rosy behinds did not move them, but they mistook them for a kilo of meat and rushed to devour them. They even laid hands on Frosyni... the Laestrygonians were indeed cannibals - they plundered the ships sailing in the bay, and only one remained for me and my enslaved companions.
