Description

No, science is not an illusion. It would be an illusion, however, to believe that we can find elsewhere what it cannot provide us.

These words replace some ideas of Freudian views regarding the problem of religion, because Freud, despite his skepticism, demonstrates in this way that he trusts mankind, and hopes that, sooner or later, his reason will allow him to master his instincts, to harmonize them with social life, on the condition that man has the wisdom to build forms of culture that are not inherently incompatible with the idealizing capacities of his instincts.

This moral dominance, coupled with the material dominance of the forces of Nature, will enable him to attain the happiness he has always sought, and this without the help of any religious or other illusion.
