[...] The organization of the conference was under the auspices of the Technological Educational Institute (T.E.I.) of Athens, thanks to the efforts of the Annex of E.D.I.K.T.I. and included a total of presentations by doctoral professors from almost all the Technological Educational Institutes of the country, divided into two sections.
The first section included five presentations and one intervention under the general title "The Institutional Role of Technological Educational Institutions" by doctoral professors N. Igoumenakis, A. Petrakis, Pr. Gianna, A. Tomara, St. Katsanidis, and P. Lytras, while the second section included six presentations under the general title "Special Issues concerning Technological Educational Institutions" by doctoral professors Th. Papatheodosiou, M. Kontesi, Ant. Antoniou, I. Kazazi, D. Terzakis, and K. Terzidis.
The aim of this conference was the timeless presentation of the institution of T.E.I. from its birth in 1983, covering a 15-year journey during which many things changed for the better, but also many things still need to be done, so that Technological Educational Institutions can take their rightful place in our country's Higher Education.
After the presentations, a thorough discussion followed with a plethora of questions to the speakers regarding the topics they developed during the conference. A discussion that shed light on many aspects of the issues concerning T.E.I. and their immediate and future prospects. [...]
