Marx argued that from the sexual relationship "one can judge the entire level of an individual's development. . .", the relationship between a man and a woman is the most natural relationship between two human beings. "Therefore, it reveals the extent to which human nature has become natural in human behavior".

The movement for women's liberation has provided ample evidence to show that in our society this relationship is one of inequality, a relationship in which women are used as objects and a relationship that does not offer much satisfaction to either party.

As is evident, these same properties characterize the entire capitalist way of life. . . . It is not enough just to identify the fact of exploitation itself and to show it as a typical example of what happens throughout capitalist society.

We must also understand exactly how the capitalist system influences a person's sexual life and attitude, and conversely, what precise role such practices and thoughts play in advancing the system’s goals.
