The publication of the honorary Tribute to Yiannis Ritsos presents a part of his bibliography: the publications in daily and periodical press. It includes poems, prose, essays, critiques, speeches, translations, and oral statements, but not interviews.
The bibliography covers a period of fifty-five years: from November 1924 to June 1979. It begins with the poet's early works published in "The Formation of Children" and continues up to recently with poems from unpublished collections. The organization of this material is chronological, and the tracking of the work alongside the various expressions of the poet's intellectual activity helps to complete the picture of him.
Among Ritsos' youthful writings, unknown texts from Crete in 1930-1931 stand out. During his stay at the sanatorium, he publishes in the local newspaper "Paratiritis" a series of prose pieces titled: "From the diary of a consumptive." These texts provide valuable information for literary research, revealing the dark conditions from which a poetry full of brilliance emerged.
