This textbook presents ways of thinking and action that allow for the collection and interpretation of information regarding the nature and effectiveness of the learning and adjustment of students with special educational needs in various educational contexts, with the aim of organizing programs and specifying teaching actions.

Specifically, the Learning Needs Assessment System (LNAS) is presented, which constitutes a coherent model for evaluating learning and adjustment in school and includes a total of eight phases or stages, each with distinct objectives and specialized techniques.
