Description

On a spring day, a steamboat full of carefree ducklings on a day trip travels down the Mississippi. The ducklings lick ice cream cones, pluck daisies, eat pastries, slurp slushies, and generally have a great time when suddenly something unexpected happens. One little duckling pees in the middle of the Mississippi. The strict captain is determined to find out which duckling is guilty and convince it to confess. Will he succeed?

In the vast expanses of a distant land flows a river called the Mississippi. On this river, one midday, something shocking happened that no one knows about. By chance, one night in Algiers, I met a boatswain with a tattoo on his hand and a cockatoo on his shoulder, who stopped cheating at cards and told me what and how it happened. That’s how I learned the seven-sealed secret of the Mississippi, and I decided to tell you, but first I want you to promise me that you will never, ever tell anyone! On the wide river, the famous Mississippi, a grand ship was traveling, full of little ducklings, who, crazy with joy that sunny morning, were all going on an excursion! The trip was wonderful, despite the crowding. Some ducklings wore bow ties and others straw hats, some played the accordion and others licked ice cream cones, some burst out laughing and others ate sesame bars, some plucked daisies and others sipped slushies, some played pirates and others fed the seagulls.

It is excellent, we have been reading it since they were two years old, now the little ones are four and a half and we will be reading it for many more years as we will also start discussing the ecological aspects of the story.

Great story without much meaning. I believe there are other books that introduce children to ecological awareness and environmental protection without being so lengthy.

Un-be-liev-able book! With a moral lesson and many messages!
It gives the opportunity to explain to the little ones that nobody is perfect and that we all make mistakes! It talks about the consequences of our actions and the impact that an act of ours can have on the planet, whether it is justified or unjustified. A book that can expand the discussion after reading it and further with more examples. All written in a very humorous way
