The aspiring journalist Annika Bengtsson has secured an internship at Sweden's largest tabloid newspaper. She desperately wants to be given a chance, and this certainly does not involve answering phones.

Until one phone call is different from the rest: it informs her that the body of a young woman has been found in a nearby cemetery. The victim is a stripper who has been raped and strangled. The main suspect is a government official.

As the pieces of the young woman's life connect, Annika will come across evidence that places the main suspect hundreds of kilometers away from the crime scene at the exact moment of the murder. Is the police looking for the wrong person?

Suddenly, much more than Annika's career is at stake. The more the young journalist investigates the world of strip clubs and corruption, the more she finds herself exposed to a world of sex and violence.
