Description

In 1980, Michalis H. Fotopoulos and his wife Maria Fotopoulou started as amateurs with five hives in their garden in Akritychori, Messinia. Initially, their honey needs were limited to their family and relatives and friends.

In 1983, the five hives expanded to 200 and were moved to the region of Messinian Mani and the mountains of Taygetus. Their son Charalampos Fotopoulos took over the business in 1994, having attended beekeeping seminars.

The Fotopoulos Beekeeping "Honey of Taygetus" is certified with ISO 22000:2005 for the production, packaging, and trade of beekeeping products.
