CHOIR: Never in this city may the fierce roar of Discord be heard, ever greedy for evil; nor may the black soil drink the blood of citizens, seeking to seize me with vengeful wrath; may there not be another calamity to spill blood in this city; but may all take and give joy among themselves in love, and may they wish to hate with a single mind; and this is what saves people from many evils.

ATHENA: Who would say that the wise will not find the path that leads to good speech? From their terrible faces, I see great gain for this people; for if you are eager, always eager, and you honor each other as you should, it will be heard everywhere that your city and your land are rightly pursuing the straight and just path.

CHOIR: Rejoice, rejoice in wealth and happiness, rejoice, O people of the state, who are friends, sitting close to your beloved daughter of Zeus, and knowledge always guides you. Those who are covered by the wings of Pallas are also respected by her father, Zeus.
