In this first volume of the "Complete Works," all the Greek poems are published, namely:
a) Those published by Polylaus in the first edition of "Evriskomenon" (Corfu 1859) - along with the Prolegomena (a text now classic and inseparable from Solomos' work) and all without exception the Notes of Polylaus (either within quotation marks under the text, or at the end along with the other notes).
b) Those that became known since then and were sporadically published in magazines and newspapers, as well as those included in the edition by Sp. Deviadzes (Complete Works of Dionysios Solomos, Zakynthos 1880).
c) Unpublished Greek poems, variations of verses, notes, etc. Included in "Unpublished Works of Solomos" (Ath. 1927, edition by "Stochastis") - with the permission graciously granted by the publishers of "Stochastis," for which they have our warmest thanks.
d) Finally, in this edition, unpublished variations of verses are published for the first time, mainly from "The Free Besieged" and "The Porphyra," which are contained in the autographs of Solomos at the National Library (Manuscripts Department).
