Truthfully, I don't know where to start with this game. If I say that I have around 500 hours, is that enough? Well, the game takes you to Tokyo in 2016, putting you in the role of 16-year-old Ren Amamiya, who is on probation for something he didn't do. He is forced to live in the attic of a café, under the supervision of Sojiro Sakura, and attends Shujin High School, where everyone looks at him with suspicious eyes. Our friend, with the help of his friends and a cat (you're not a cat, Morgana, we got it), forms an anonymous "heroic" group and fights against the corruption of the upper class adults. To avoid spoilers, I won't say more. Like all Shin Megami Tensei and Persona games, it is a quite dark game that aims to show the reality of society, as well as what power can do to a person. In terms of gameplay, it is what you would expect. A turn-based RPG with various boss fights. Throughout the game, you are accompanied by relaxing music, depending on the situation in the game. Overall, the music is quite good. The voice acting is also wonderful, it seems that serious work was put into the script and the voices. It has comedic, but also melancholic moments. In general, it is a game that keeps you hooked without ever getting bored. It is definitely worth it and more.

In summary, it is an improved version compared to Persona 5 in terms of appearance (graphics) and gameplay. For anyone starting for the first time, it is definitely worth trying this instead of the vanilla P5, and for anyone who has already finished the old one like myself, I believe it is worth starting from the beginning through this version, if they enjoyed the original, of course. It has many (small) changes and additions that alter the way you approach the game and make you utilize abilities that were ignored in the old version due to limited capabilities (such as high-level weapons and Personas). Additionally, the story continues after the end of the old game. One could argue that it is essentially a small remaster with an expansion, and it could have been a DLC for the old game instead of a new title. My personal opinion is that having played the old game, I wouldn't pay 70 euros for this, but at its current price (30 euros), I consider it a significant upgrade in all aspects compared to P5, and I prefer it incomparably to simply having some indifferent DLC for the old game at the same price, as is the case with other games.

Just those of you who have never dealt with this kind of game, buy it whenever you have plenty of time because yes, it will take you around 160 hours for the first game, provided that you don't "rush" it and unlock the last month. We're talking about an excellent RPG. You are a high school student who moves as you "committed" a crime and are under surveillance. The game takes a turn when you can participate in a supernatural world where the souls of people take form and you fight them to make people better individuals. You divide the game into 2 worlds, the human one, where you can go to school, hang out with friends, develop bonds with them, and the world of souls, where you fight evil people to change their mindset. This particular version is the most complete version of the simple persona 5. It comes with all the DLCs of the base game integrated for free, it comes with some additional scenes at various moments of the game, with a new character that you can use in palaces, with new techniques to fight enemies, and many more. I believe it's worth every euro. I am a crazy fan of the persona series and I have purchased the edition for thieves "thieves edition".

I had finished the game a few months ago and it took me 101 hours, 18 hours more than Persona 5.

Persona 5 was my first JRPG and the game that convinced me to pre-order for the first time in my life.
Persona 5 Royal was the game that I pre-ordered, and it is the only game from which I have the Collector's Edition... meaning I paid more than full price to play a game that is 80% the same as the one I played a year ago twice.
I won't answer if it was worth it because I believe you already know the answer, but what I will say is that Persona 5 Royal is not just better than Persona 5 in... almost every aspect, but it is one of the best things I have ever experienced.
I highly recommend it to JRPG fans without a second thought, it is the best thing out there right now.
If I could describe Persona 5 Royal in one sentence, I would say it is the ultimate videogame experience.
(24/4/2021: I have over 300 hours in the game with 3 playthroughs and I'm considering playing it again sometime in the future :D)
