Description

Description

Once upon a time, there were three little wolves who wanted to build a house of their own. But Roonie-Roonie, the sneaky, bad pig, had other plans in mind...

Key Features

  • Theme: Classic fairy tale, Twist, Humor, Cleverness versus Violence
  • Style: Delightful, unexpected, and incredibly funny.
  • Age: 3–7 years

Suitable for:

  • Ideal for parents who want to introduce their children to classic fairy tales, but with a modern, clever, and subversive perspective.
  • Perfect for starting a discussion about what "good" and "bad" mean and how violence and power do not always bring the results we expect.

Why This Book Is Special:

  • The Ultimate Twist: Eugene Trivizas takes the classic fairy tale we all know (with the three little pigs) and literally turns it upside down, creating a story full of surprises.

  • Clever Humor: This is a fairy tale that will make both children and adults laugh with its ingenious ideas and the funny turn the story takes.

  • Important Message: In a uniquely entertaining way, the book affirms that raw violence and destruction are never the answer.

  • International Success: This is not just any book. It even reached the second place on the best sellers list of children's books in America (Picture Books) when it was released!

  • Magical Illustration: The multi-award-winning Helen Oxenbury, illustrator of the famous "We're Going on a Bear Hunt," brings the characters to life with her unique, warm, and expressive style.

A high-quality 40-page book with a hardcover, built to last through time and countless readings.

With the book you can:

  • Discuss: Why was the pig "bad"? What could the little wolves have done differently? Why wasn't the house made of flowers actually a bad idea?

  • Ask the child: "What is the difference between this fairy tale and the one with the little pigs?", "What material would you use to build a house that can't be knocked down no matter what?"

  • Play/Create: Draw the big bad pig and the three little wolves. Try making small houses out of different materials (e.g. LEGO bricks, paper, twigs) and see which one withstands blowing the best!

It is an incredible book! My children know it by heart because of the repetition and they participate in the reading! And of course, the message that no matter how difficult things are, with perseverance and effort, in the end, anything can happen!

Very nice book, but there are some expressions I choose not to read to my child ("go drown yourself" and "leave us alone"). That's why I remove one star... Also, the illustrations are very gray and dull... Otherwise, a very inspiring story.

This book is definitely not for three-year-olds, expressions like (go drown yourself) sorry but this is very wrong for a children's book.

Tragic book, beyond the inappropriate language for children, as someone else said here, the message it conveys is problematic. Especially in a time when abuse among children and families is very common, it teaches children that with persuasion maybe the other person won't kill you.

Just a plot twist in the classic story of the three little pigs. The little one doesn't seem to impress him like other books by the same author. Probably a simplistic story. However, nice illustrations.

One of Mr. Trivizas' most well-known fairy tales, an original variation of a classic fairy tale. Although personally I was not impressed with the illustration and the abrupt language of the author (which I would never want to see a young child imitate), the little reader was thrilled and it is a book that we read very often. It is not a coincidence that the author is so beloved by children throughout the years, as his writing is incredibly captivating. I would recommend it.

Very nice book, different, keeps the interest. I would maybe like less caustic dialogues since it is intended for such young children. The author is often a "torrent".
