Traverse: the position of a ship when it sails at reduced speed, receiving wind or waves from the side. Crosswise, transverse.

Traverse is the third poetry collection of Nikos Kavvadias and was first published in 1975 by Kedros Publishing (14 reprints until 1989) and, from April 1990 to February 1997, 9 times by Agra Publishing.

The collection is dedicated to Philip Hatzopoulos and contains two poetic sections, Traverse and Philip's Fairy Tales. It is adorned with a frontispiece by Giannis Moralis.
