The "Literary Walks," before being compiled here, have already made their own journey in the literary studies that dealt with the early Interwar period, even if only in part.
For several decades now, it has been impossible for a scholar to traverse the literature of the early decades of the 20th century without relying on the information provided by the wanderings of Bastia.
This becomes even more significant today, at a time when the interest of researchers in the modernist literature of the '30s begins, if not to wane, at least to diminish, while studies of the Symbolist poets and prose writers who emerged in literature after 1915 are being revived.
As today's reader will find, this is a series of interviews that continue to be infused with a vitality and, in some cases, an almost Dionysian warmth—elements that are inherently anti-academic, which, on the other hand, do not contradict but facilitate the approach to the personal world of each author.
