True People are also portraits of living individuals, but from the world of psychopaths. I call them true because almost all of them are sincere and none of them pretends to play a role.
HASHICKLIDIK LITERATURE (excerpt) Among the psychopaths, the fools, the melancholics, and the hysterics either say nothing at all or speak very little. The fools have empty heads, the melancholics are consumed by their sorrow, and the hysterics, when they are not in their crisis period, are absent-minded.
However, aside from the fools, they are all prolific writers. They write whether they know how to read and write or not. The latter grab other sick individuals, doctors, or visitors and tell them: Write! And they start dictating.
But what do they write? Anything you want. Reports, memoranda, requests, complaints to the Psychiatric Hospital or to ministries; love letters, political speeches, scientific theories, philosophies, gibberish. But mainly they write short stories, novels, poems, and self-confessions. From these written documents, we will publish some.
