Description

Summary

The texts of this volume are titled "The Reading of Seferis," following the same logic that led Dimitris Dimiroulis' studies on Cavafy to find a similar home (The Reading of Cavafy, Gutenberg, 2013).

These are different perspectives on Seferis' poetic work that utilize specific theoretical questions and critical inquiries each time. They also complement two previous books by the author about the poet. It is a kind of postscript that closes old accounts while simultaneously opening new ones.

George Seferis continues to define the significant passage of the 20th century in terms of before and after. No one can ignore him: whether it is literature or the ideas and ideologies of Greek society. We are still among George Seferis, in the many variations of him — in what we seek each time in the past or aim for in the future.
