Philippos, 12 years old, faces a new family life: his mother, separated from his father for years, marries Orestis, the father of nine-year-old and very lively Aris, who lost his own mother when he was a baby. This unusual family moves to a new house and Philippos begins to record his impressions, complaints, anger, and the problems this coexistence creates for him on a small tape recorder. He is not the only one narrating in this book. Soon, little Aris will imitate him, while the mother will write the family's news to her sister in Crete, and Orestis will call his best friend every so often. Thus, with four different monologues, a modern story unfolds, full of comic episodes, but also some tragic moments, until a new member appears in the family and the new house becomes a "home for five."
