Between 1998 and 2004, I published in a magazine primarily aimed at kindergarten teachers the small notes that the reader now finds gathered in this small volume.

After several years since then, I thought it appropriate for them to have a fixed place in a book, as they contain many of the thoughts I have articulated and the ideas I have developed regarding this dominant type of traditional folk oral literature.

I do not underestimate the great value of folk songs or the related traditions (Sage, Legend), which together compose the holy trinity of the poetry of traditional folk culture.

But it is the great wealth of symbols, thanks to which the fairy tale has existed and been expressed, that makes me consider it first among equals.
