Vitex masonry primer is a translucent, water-based primer made with 100% acrylic resins. It provides excellent adhesion, reduces surface absorbency, and improves the appearance, adhesion, coverage, and durability of the finish coat. It is also suitable for alkaline surfaces, which it penetrates and stabilizes. It is practically odorless during application because it contains no ammonia.
Use as a primer for water-based emulsion, acrylic, cement, and relief paints. Before application, the surface must be clean, dry, and smooth, free from dust, oils, and loose material. Stir the product well and apply one coat with a roller, brush, or airless spray gun, diluted with water at a ratio of 300–400%. Do not apply at temperatures below 5 °C or above 35 °C, or at relative humidity above 80%. Touch-dry in 15–30 minutes; recoat after 4–6 hours with Vitex emulsion or acrylic paints. Drying and recoating times vary depending on temperature and relative humidity. Clean tools immediately after use with water and, if necessary, soap or detergent.
