One night, Lucullus, the greedy white elephant, is sleeping in the jungle with the peach trees, balloon trees, and secret caves, dreaming that he is hungry. He wakes up immediately and starts eating fireflies until he becomes the brightest elephant in the world. A lighthouse keeper with yellow suspenders sees him and decides to make him a lighthouse in the distant ocean. But Lucullus's adventures have just begun. He is captured by pirates and sold at the pirate market, where he is bought by Cloudy the Second, the king of Cloudland, to make him the sun in his country.
