The aim of the book is the theoretical approach to the theatrical text and more specifically the study of those processes through which the text transcends the level of the manifest meaning and 'opens up' to the world of experience and discourse, both implicit and expressed.
This study considers every text (and primarily the theatrical one) as a product of a society, a collectivity that is going through a historical phase and is trying to understand its identity by tracing both the known elements of its structure and history, as well as those elements that it forgets, ignores, or represses.
