The second book in the series and the novella "Fracture Me" kept me company these past few days and I admit that I finished it quite quickly! Intrigues, secrecy, and a world reminiscent of Divergent, Hunger Games, or Maze Runner. Politics, plot twists, regulations—a mess in the New Government. A lyrical, psychological writing style that unfortunately won't suit many, as was the case for me. I would rate it 2 to 3 stars because I found it quite strange, but at the same time, I want to see what happens next.
I have to say that although I was excited and eagerly awaited the series to be translated, the first book didn't win me over 100% as I found it quite slow and in diary format. Generally, so far I've found that it's a series that builds up quite slowly and with a lot of detail in the world-building and the protagonists' characters. Personally, it's not something I prefer but it doesn't bother me either. In the 2nd book of the series, Juliette slowly finds herself and discovers her powers at Omega Point, while cultivating relationships and friendships and developing as a character. Personally, I still find her annoying and I definitely don't like Adam, but I loved the world-building and the dystopia of the book! I also really liked the scenes with Warner, whom I was looking for on every page! It is definitely a better book than the first, much fuller with characters, suspenseful and dystopian scenes, while the relationships seem stronger and developing.
