Description

[...] The 120 Days is the one thousand and one nights from a Middle Ages that seems to have not yet ended. "And of all the Middle Ages, there is none worse than the Middle Ages of man" (Lord Byron).
It is important to gaze at it and not hypocritically hide behind an ethics that is nothing but the denial of life itself (Nietzsche).
In 1966, Foucault wrote: "Sade touches the limits of classical speech and thought. He reigns precisely at their boundaries. After him, violence, life and death, desire, sexuality will spread out a huge shadowy layer that we are now trying, as much as we can, to continue in our own speech, our own freedom, our own thought. But our thought is so brief, our freedom so subjugated, our speech so chewed over that we must now realize that essentially this underground layer is an infinite sea." The French historian was not wrong when he said that the less we can change the world, the more we will read Sade.
